It is obvious that going to analyze the topic of this article, I identify directly with the people we have already made passing the half century of life and my main focus is to this select and special group.
Although not rule out the possibility that those who do not yet belong to this group (again) Select, can also take advantage of the issues, comments and experiences found here.
The whole wage-slave mantra is "time is money."
Minimum wage is based on the hour. Overtime is (sometimes) paid for extra hours worked. Salaries are tabulated annually. Bills are paid monthly.
The connection between time and money is intricately woven in our society.
The system works well, at least for some elements of the wage-slave strata. Bosses, for example, use the time-is-money principle to dangle a carrot in front of their workers to ever-higher levels of productivity and, at times. ever-lower levels of dignity. It’s also a good way to divide workers. The time of some workers is more important than the time of other workers.
Unfortunately the whole system is a sham.
Time is not money. In so many ways…
First, time is the blood of life. It is priceless.
How can one put an hourly cost on laughing with your friends? What is the cost of watching your child play? Is there a price for watching your cat stretching in the sun on a spring morning?
Besides the shallowness of affixing a price on time, the time-money ratio fails to recognize the non-temporal nature of wealth, especially in the exponentially-increasing technological world. An idea–a mere instantaneous flicker of neurons–can move across the world and create a trillion dollar industry. Thomas Jefferson glimpsed this when he said:
"He who receives ideas from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine receives light without darkening me"
Consider also the amazing economic power that lies just beyond our fingertips. A stock order, moving across the Internet, can be worth millions of dollars, billions of dollars or more.
That potential is there for you to use.
To free yourself from wage slavery, it’s time to see your time as priceless and your wealth potential as limitless.
I hope this article helps you to meditate a little, how long we have to live? although the answer may be quite varied, 20, 40,60,80, 100 years?
How are we extend our warranty for life? that we will analyze in a future article.
Greetings:
Jose de la Rosa
